Prime Time

Monday through Friday - 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Saturday - 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m..

At the YMCA we recognize that the time families spend together is precious and that for some families, it is becoming harder and harder to find quality time and activities. The Greater Portland YMCA is proud to provide a program that will make it easy for families to enjoy the Y together. Prime Time is open to children 16 weeks to 5 years old for Family or Single Adult with Family memberships only, at no additional charge.

Parents are welcome to stay and play with their children, or take advantage of the Y's synchronized programming and participate in a class or wellness activity while their child is in Prime Time.

Prime Time is:

1. for infants from 16 weeks to 15 months. We can only provide care for 2 infants at one time.
2. for children from 15 months to pre-school aged children.

Call-Ahead-Care:

Parents may sign up a week in advance, or call 874-1111 ext 111 after 9:00 AM the day they want to attend to check on availability. Please feel free to leave a message if you need a return call.

Length of stay:

Infants (up to 15 months) may attend Prime Time for up to an hour, and children over 15 months may stay for a maximum of 1.5 hours while their parents work out. Parents must sign in and notify the staff of their whereabouts, and must check in and out with the staff if they are going to be jogging outside of the building.

Snacks:

There will be no food allowed in the Prime Time area. Parents are encouraged to feed their child a snack prior to dropping their child off. They can bring a drink for their child in a spill-proof cup. If a child gets thirsty during their time with us, we will only give them water. Parents of children who are not potty trained; we do not change diapers, but will come and get you only if absolutely necessary. Parents must bring diapers and wipes.
