Fit-Start is a fitness program that is free with your YMCA membership. Fit-Start is a specific and comprehensive plan for anyone starting to work out or is looking to change up their routine. A Fitness Consultant will assist you, the member, in creating and reaching short- and long-term goals. Members will then have an opportunity for follow-up meetings with their Fitness Consultant, if they wish, in order to receive continued assistance in their success. This flexible approach is designed to help you form the habit of regular exercise. It teaches specific skills that help you set realistic goals, adjust your work out, and provide reinforcing feedback and support.

Fitness Assessments

Are you interested in seeing how your exercise program is working or would you like to see where you should start out before you jump into a new exercise program? Then this is for you. A certified Exercise Specialist will take you through a series of fitness tests to assess your current fitness level.
Assessment includes:
Resting Heart Rate, Blood Pressure, Body Fat Analysis, Submaximal Treadmill Test (Cardiovascular Endurance), Sit and Reach Flexibility Test (Flexibility), Bench Press Test (Muscular Strength & Endurance), Half Sit-Up Test (Muscular Strength & Endurance)

Exercise Support Program (E.S.P.)

Fees: $40 / hour (we also offer a variety of special packages)
The E.S.P. program at the Pineland YMCA is a new look at personal training, designed for individuals or groups of up to four people. E.S.P participants are given one-on-one guidance by experienced Fitness Specialists through three areas, cardiovascular, resistance, and flexibility training. This program is ideal for individuals who are in need of additional motivation and encouragement to keep their fitness plan on track, for those who exercise regularly but have reached a plateau or have become bored with their routines, as well as those living with or recovering from an injury or illness. YMCA Fitness Specialists will work with your physician and/or physical therapist to design a training program that works best for you.
