Bike Torture
Thursday, Mar 11, 2010
Okay, so, don't let anyone trick you into joining a Spinning Class. Or, if you do, be aware of what you're getting into. Beth, my beloved coach, made the offhand suggestion that I jump into the Monday-Wednesday class at Pineland. She even gave me a little demo of how the bikes work and showed me the basic torture positions. I walked into the first class with a spring in my step. I very smugly set up my bike and got situated. I introduced myself to a few fellow "spinners", and Barb, on the bike next to me, suggested I might want to get a little towel. I asked what for, and she said, "you'll see."
I turned my attention to Rebecca, our instructor. 5 minutes later, I was drenched in sweat, my water bottle was empty, my socks were falling down, and my shorts were riding up. The good news is that the time went by pretty fast, although I cannot rule out the possibility that I may have passed out a couple of times. They tell me that spinning will get easier after 58 or so classes. I wouldn't count on it. Don't say I didn't warn you.

You go girl! Spinning is addicting and makes riding on the road easier.-- A mile swimming-- I am impressed- I have my work cut out for me!

You kind of look like you're wearing a Mickey Mouse hat.
