The Casco Bay YMCA offers non-medically supervised exercise programs for individuals with known heart disease who have already participated in either a Phase II or III cardiac rehabilitation program and meet certain medical qualifications. Individuals who have not participated in a Phase II or III program are strongly urged to do so; however, medical consent from your primary care physician will also be acceptable to join the YMCA’s Phase IV program. New members to the program will meet with our Fitness Specialist who has a degree in Exercise Physiology. All participants will be asked to provide the Fitness Specialist with the results of their most recent post-event treadmill evaluation, as well as sit down and discuss goals. Medical clearance from your physician is necessary.
