The Adaptive Services Program currently serves nearly 300 people – double the size of the program just two years ago. Volunteer drives transport participants from as far north as Lisbon and as far south as Kennebunk.

The Cumberland County YMCA Adaptive Services Program is dedicated to ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, is able to enjoy the YMCA to their fullest potential. Based at our Casco Bay branch, this commitment ranges from creating specific adaptive programs to simply lending a supportive hand in utilizing the Y’s wellness and aquatics facilities. Adaptive sports opportunities include basketball, bowling, archery, fishing, swimming, and snow-shoeing, as well as Unified soccer and floor hockey run in collaboration with the Special Olympics.
