Casco Bay YMCA Branch * Greater Portland YMCA Branch * Otter Pond Day Camp * YMCA at Pineland Branch |
The Casco Bay Branch provided nearly $137,000 in financial assistance in 2007...
We serve all ages, incomes and abilities:
The Casco Bay YMCA serves more than 600 individuals every day, seeing more than 11,000 visits every month; regardless of background, faith or income. During our 2007 fiscal year, we provided $136,881 to the community in financial assistance for memberships, programs, year-round preschool, and summer camp. We also provided another $31,000 in support of our zero-barrier programming, such as the one-on-one support component of our Adaptive Services program, which is open and accessible to everyone in our community. In just the last three months of this current fiscal year, we have seen a 10% increase in awards, which we anticipate continuing through the end of the year.
|
We build Strong families:
The YMCA is dedicated to serving the families of our community - including individual members of the family and the entire family unit. Our Prime Time program in particular is designed to keep both children and their parents healthy in spirit, mind and body - making it as easy as possible for parents to find the time to focus on themselves while knowing that their children are in a safe and nurturing program. Last year we awarded $58,484 in financial assistance for family memberships. We fully expect to match that number again this year.
|
We provide a safe and nurturing environment for preschoolers:
The YMCA provides a close-knit community for its 11 preschool children. The program promotes early childhood as a time of fun, exploration and discovery - all of which these children experience, as well as the enriching opportunity to participate in Y programs such as swim lessons, yoga classes, creative movement and more. Last year the Y awarded $13,000 in financial assistance for this program. We anticipate matching that number again this year.

Where the Money Goes...
During the 2007 Annual Support Campaign, we raised $83,400 to support the financial assistance program at the Casco Bay YMCA. These funds came from 340 generous individuals and businesses in the community who believe in our mission and the good work that happens within our walls. We hope you will join us in achieving our goal of 400 gifts this year that will total $91,000.
So that you can make as informed a decision as possible, here is the breakdown of how our dollars raised are spent.

We are child centered and directed:
Our "learning through play" philosophy enables us to allow children to explore their environment in a way that will enhance their educational experiences and prepare them for the future. Our curriculum is guided by the children's interests and needs and adapted to fit their daily schedules.
